Raised in downtown Sandwich, I grew up on Cape Cod. They called us "townies" since my great-aunt Nan McCann founded the original Sandwich Boardwalk that everyone likes to jump off of in the summer here. My father spent his life restoring her home on Liberty Street. We all took swimming lessons at Sandy Neck Beach and made floats for the Fourth of July parade that traverses through town. I was part of the very last graduating class of the century to leave Sandwich High School. I wouldn't have wanted to grow up anywhere else.

After college, I needed to spread my wings and traveled around California, eventually settling down in North Hollywood. I worked in production and promotions on various television shows, movies, events, and commercials. My favorite job was doing the research for a healthy-living cooking show called, "Gen's Guiltless Gourmet". I learned much about nutrition and cuisine developing recipes and various ideas for the show. One of the most beautiful things I've ever seen was the dessert in bloom after one of the very few rains that occur out there.

When I came home it was evident I had to make a career change since there are no mass production studios here. When I asked my father for his advice- it was some of the best advice he has ever given me! He said to me, "You should go get your real estate license. You're aunt Joan was a great real estate agent and she loved her job." I got my license and followed in her footsteps beginning my career at the very same office she used to work in. I love being a realtor. Yes, it is a lot of work, but I get to meet all kinds of different people and be invited into their homes. I get to study history and architecture. And best of all I get to help people often when they are starting new chapters of their lives. I get excited for them every time!

I have also had the wonderful opportunity to be a part of the team at Heritage Sands, the Cape's first cottage community in nearly 50 years. The community has since won many awards for employing sustainable design and construction practices, including "Community of the Year" by The National Association of Home Builders. Working closely with the architects and builders we tailor made each one of our oceanfront cottages for our clients so that each is unique to the tastes of each homeowner. Now that the community is sold out I have found a new role at Waypoint Realty Group. I look forward to meeting my future clients and helping them with their real estate needs.
